An introduction to cupping coffee!

Sessions will be led by Joshua Tsang, one our our certified Q Graders. This workshop is intended for those who are interested in the sensory evaluation of coffee. Learn about the industry standard used by roasters and coffee professionals to assess coffees and assign cup scores. Key focus will be cupping protocol and sensory evaluation using the Coffee Quality Institute (CQI) standards with the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) cupping form. All materials will be provided but attendees are encouraged to bring any familiar or favourite coffees to compare and explore in cupping.

Topics covered will include:

- Basic sensory science
- Applications of cupping
- SCA/CQI Cupping Protocol
- Coffee scoring
- Comparative tasting

Workshops will be held at our roastery in Markham.
